Established in 1923, The Chemist is the official publication of The American Institute of Chemists, Inc (AIC). The Chemist is published quarterly in magazine format. Please direct advertising inquires and reproduction materials to: The AIC National Office, 315 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106-2702. All copy is subject to approval by the Editor.
Demographics
Surveys conducted by The American Institute of Chemists indicate the average reader holds a Ph.D. and more than 20 years of field experience. In addition, more than 49% of the respondents read the publication thoroughly, while another 49% read the magazine casually. Approximately 17% of all Chemist readers are directly responsible for purchasing specifications, and almost 34% are responsible for purchasing recommendations. More than 11% of those buyers are responsible for purchasing budgets in excess of $1,000,000, while an additional 24% oversee budgets between $100,000 and $1,000,000. The Chemist is mailed to more than 2,000 libraries, chemistry professionals, and AIC members.
